Vocal Extremes - sound and video of animal vocal extremes.

Although it is considered dangerous for the vocal folds, animals often vocalize at the extreme ends of the vocal capacities. Some species are very loud, produce very long lasting utterances or sound very high or very low pitched. Apparently they all survive and do not damage their vocal organs - or do they? This presentation includes video and sounds of some of the extremes. Let's explore the multidimensional space of sound production and its boundaries, and what we can learn from them about our own voice!
