(Left) SVI Guest Faculty Oren Brown coaches Taylor Ferranti during a Methods of Teaching Voice session (M. Kiryluk photo). At right, Brown enjoys a moment of relaxation. In addition to the resident staff, the SVI each year invites one or more guest faculty to provide a balance of theoretical and practical information.
SVI participants pause for a moment before class begins. On a
typical day, SVI students attend 2-3 hours of lectures and demonstrations, then study and complete homework assignments
for the remainder of the day.

An SVI class member takes a break from studies to engage in some light-hearted fun.

Above, Methods of Teaching Voice instructor Katherine Eberle demonstrates a singing concept to Sara Paar (M. Kiryluk photo). At right: In less formal surroundings, SVI participants Dianne Thornburgh and Nancy Harris make beautiful music.
