The Voice Academy website (www.voiceacademy.org) [this link will open in a new browser window, close that window to return to this one.]
...was built exclusively for the vocal health of U.S. teachers. Unfortunately, teachers have more voice problems than just about any occupational group, although recent advances in voice research can allow teachers to prevent or self-manage as many as 75 percent of their voice problems. The project was funded by a grant from the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders. Sponsors are the National Center for Voice and Speech and The University of Iowa's Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology.
