The
Voice Academy website (www.voiceacademy.org) [this

...was built exclusively
for the vocal health of U.S. teachers. Unfortunately, teachers
have more voice problems than just about any occupational group,
although recent advances in voice research can allow teachers
to prevent or self-manage as many as 75 percent of their voice
problems. The project was funded by a grant from the National
Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders. Sponsors
are the National Center for Voice and Speech and The University
of Iowa's Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology. The

Workshop on Acoustic Voice Analysis:
Summary Statement
This document
summarizes consensus among representatives from industry and academia
who met in 1994. The purpose of their meeting was to establish better
agreement on the purpose and methods of acoustic analysis of voice
signals. A summary of their recommendations is preceded by background
and explanatory material written by Dr. Ingo Titze.

Enhancements for Research Articles
Peer-reviewed journal articles remain the primary means among scientists
to share information about recent investigations. The NCVS is no
exception. However, the Internet is being used more and more in conjunction
with the print medium to reduce costs or provide animations, audio
samples, color photographs, and complex data sets that enhance text
and black-and-white two-dimensional images.
We anticipate this
portion of our website to increase greatly in the next
several years.
Summary of
NCVS-sponsored Research
Presented in tabular
format, this
page summarizes scientific articles produced through NCVS-sponsored
research. Funding for this research was provided by the
National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders,
a division of the National Institutes of Health.
This table lists for each work the manuscript
title, authors, abstract and bibliographic detail (so that the
user may locate the full article as it was published).
