Dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of voice disorders, the Colorado Voice Care Network is a unique resource for those who use their voices professionally, be it speaking or singing. The CVCN combines resources from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, the Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and the National Center for Voice and Speech, the only existing voice center housed in a performing arts center, known internationally for voice research and development. The CVCN offers complete diagnosis and treatment of all voice disorders with the addition of, Mona Abaza, M.D., Laryngologist.

Diagnostic services
Within the Colorado Voice Care Network, we use state-of-the-art technology and techniques to visualize the larynx and assess laryngeal function in order to comprehensively diagnose voice and related disorders.

  • Videostroboscopy
  • Electroglottography (EGG)
  • Photoglottography (PGG)
  • Acoustic and Aerodynamic Assesment of Vocal Function
  • Vocal Range Profile (VRP)
  • Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)
  • Complete Voice Evaluation
  • Vocal Performance Assessment (singing voice)

Therapeutic Services
We are fortunate to offer all approaches to voice care, including behavioral, medical and surgical intervention and preventive care. Some of our intervention approaches include:

  • Professional Voice Care
  • Behavioral Voice Therapy for the disordered Speaking and Singing Voice
  • Speaking Voice Enhancement
  • Phonosurgery for benign vocal fold lesions, including micro-cauterization of blood vessels with the laser
  • Botulinum Toxin Injections for the treatment of Spasmodic Dysphonia and Granuloma
  • Medialization procedures such as Thyroplasty, Lipoinjection, and Arytenoid Reduction
  • Laryngeal framework procedures
  • Workshops on care of the voice
  • Outreach programs to the Elementary Schools teaching principles of voice production/care
