Angela
Halpern, M.S. CCC-SLP, Speech-Language Pathologist and Research
Associate at the National Center for Voice and Speech is a member
of Dr. Lorraine Ramig’s Parkinson’s Team. Angela obtained
her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wichita State University in 1990,
and her Master of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh
in 1992. Angela’s field of study at both institutions was
Communication Disorders and Sciences. Before joining Dr. Ramig’s
team in 2000, Angela worked at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas,
Texas; Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado; and Easter
Seals Colorado. Angela’s clinical focus and expertise is
with adults who have neurological disorders, with a specialty
in voice and speech in Parkinson’s disease.
In addition to clinical work, Angela is actively involved in research
investigating voice and speech in Parkinson’s disease and
has given presentations at national conferences.
Angela is a certified clinician in the LSVT®, an efficacious
treatment approach for improving voice and speech in Parkinson’s.
She is also a faculty member of the LSVT® foundation and conducts
training workshops nationwide.
