Steven Gray, MD
The
late Steven Gray, MD, was a professor in the Department
of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery at the University of
Utah. Dr. Gray passed away on September 29, 2002 after a long
bout with Wegener's granulomatosis and cancer.
He received a bachelor of science degree from Brigham
Young University and his medical degree from the University of
Utah. After a year
of surgery residency at La Crosse Lutheran Hospital, Dr. Gray completed
his residency in otolaryngology at The University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
He also earned a master of science degree from The University of
Iowa.
Dr. Gray completed a fellowship at University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati
Children's Hospital and was certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology
in 1986.
In addition to clinical work, Dr. Gray's scientific contributions
include investigations of the molecular composition of vocal fold
tissue, biologic components of aging voice, familiar voice traits,
vocal abuse in teachers, and engineering of the vocal fold matrix.
