Brian Berger, BS,
Brian Berger is a Research Assistant III in the Department of
Speech Pathology & Audiology at the University of Iowa and works in the
laboratory of Dr. Ingo Titze. He is currently developing a 3D in vitro
model of the lamina propria for use in a bioreactor to study the effects
of shear and stress on distinct cell types from the human vocal folds.
Brian earned a bachelor's of science degree with a double major in
microbiology and biology from the University of Iowa in 1997. He has
nine years of research experience working in the fields of molecular
biology and genetics. His areas of academic interest include
biomechanics of the voice, tissue engineering, cell culture, and gene
expression.
