Shari Rhoads SHARI RHOADS, American pianist and conductor, worked as repetiteur/assistant conductor for two years at the Gran Teatro del Liceo in Barcelona, Teatro de la Zarazuela and as assistant conductor to Garcia Navarro, personally contracted by Placido Domingo. She has appeared in recital with Montserrat Caballé, José Carreras and Luis Lima, and has privately coached many of the most renowned singers of our time. For the seasons 1985-87 she worked exclusively as coach/accompanist and orchestrator for Miss Caballé. She has conducted Die Zauberflöte, Cosi Fan Tutte, Don Giovanni, Pelèas et Mélisande, Giulio Cesare, Lulu, L’elisir d’Amore, Carmen, Otello, West Side Story, Jen?fa, and Die Entführung aus dem Serail. From 1991 to 2000 she was Professor of Music and guest lecturer in music history at the Muiskhochschule Luzern, and from 1995-98, Professeur Invitée at the Conservatoire le Lausanne. Rhoads is currently the opera coach and diction professor at the School of Music, The University of Iowa.
